Ship drawings for your vessel.

We produce your vessel’s drawings to build, modify or regularize it before DICAPI, Peru’s maritime authority. When there are no drawings, or they no longer match the vessel, we start from its 3D scan.

Which drawings DICAPI requires

To approve the construction or modification of a vessel, DICAPI requires a set of drawings and studies signed by a registered, licensed naval or mechanical engineer. Under its C-04 procedure, for vessels over 20 and up to 30 gross tonnage, there are eleven technical documents: from the descriptive report to the tank and hold capacity study.

In addition, all vessels of 20 gross tonnage or more must submit intact stability studies and carry out an inclining test.

When you need them

Each procedure requires different drawings

  • Construction

The full set of drawings and studies for approval, before building.

  • Change of dimensions

If you change the length, beam or depth, you resubmit the report, general arrangement, lines plan, structure, frames, hydrostatic curves, stability and capacities.

  • Internal modifications

Descriptive report, general arrangement and structure, plus stability and capacities where applicable.

  • Vessels without drawings

We scan the vessel and rebuild its drawings as it was actually built.

Process

From the procedure to the set of drawings

  1. 01

    Review

We check which drawings and certificates exist and which procedure applies: construction, modification or regularization.

  2. 02

    Scanning, if needed

If there are no drawings or they do not match the vessel, we measure it by drone, LiDAR or laser scanner.

  3. 03

    Drawings and studies

We produce each document with the content and in the order the procedure requires.

  4. 04

    Delivery

Numbered drawings, in PDF and CAD format, backed by the vessel’s 3D model.

FAQ

What clients ask us most.

Which drawings does DICAPI require to approve a vessel?

For vessels over 20 and up to 30 gross tonnage (procedure C-04): descriptive report, general arrangement, lines plan, general structure, frames and bulkheads, onboard systems, hydrostatic curves, stability study, electrical system, propulsion and steering, and tank and hold capacities. Passenger vessels add accommodation, emergency exits and evacuation.

Who must sign the drawings?

A registered, licensed naval engineer, or mechanical engineer. A mechanical engineer must prove studies in naval stability and structures, 5 years of experience in naval design and three similar projects.

What do I submit to modify my vessel?

The original approved general structure drawing (or the approval certificate) and the drawings of the modification. If the length, beam or depth change, the lines, structure, stability and capacity drawings are submitted again.

What if my vessel has no drawings?

We scan it in 3D and rebuild its drawings as it was actually built. It is the fastest way to get drawings that match the real vessel.

Is an inclining test required?

Yes: all vessels of 20 gross tonnage or more must submit intact stability studies and carry out an inclining test.
